Did You Know that... Divorce Attorneys are NOT TRAINED to Help You Cope with Non-legal Divorce-Related Concerns?
Attorneys are well trained in providing legal advice and representing their clients by negotiating
a fair divorce settlement or advancing legal arguments in court.
On the other hand, divorce attorneys are
NOT experts in family dynamics, child development, parenting or the numerous problems that interfere with people's functioning. As a result, attorneys are not well equipped to assist their clients with the emotional fallout that often accompanies a relationship breakdown and make post divorce adjustment difficult (i.e., parental
alienation syndrome (PAS),
addictions recovery, domestic violence and mental illness).
